In 2010, Hulsinger Electric provided 3 additional heated screens for the intakes at Ashtabula in Lake Erie. There were 3 heated screens that existed from Hulsinger Electric, previously.

Both main feed pipes split into 3 intakes. Now, all 6 intake openings have heated screen units.

This is the location that Hulsinger Electric first experimented with making heated screens and worked with Lake Erie Diving to install a unit. There was such good success that we have continued building them using varying applications as necessary.

During this project, we also built a new control panel using new power supplies to provide power for both intakes.

At Ashtabula, they also take advantage of the Ethernet capabilities of the Idec processor to monitor temperature, power usage, and system status in their SCADA software.
